01A clearer start to procurement

The right capability.
The evidence to act on it.

Defence procurement depends on understanding both the need and the industrial base. Fragmented supplier records, unstructured specifications and familiar vendor lists make that harder. Pattrnz brings those pieces together before sourcing decisions are fixed.

01 /

Define what matters.

Translate an initial requirement into specific products, services and capabilities, with the constraints your team needs to evaluate.

02 /

Broaden your options.

Discover suppliers beyond the usual network. Connect technical needs with documented experience, specialist expertise and relevant dual-use capabilities.

03 /

Act on the evidence.

Carry a clear rationale into market dialogue, supplier assessment and RFx. Keep supporting records and qualification gaps visible as you move forward.

02The Pattrnz solution

Two modules.
One connected foundation.

Supplier Graph brings together what you know about the market. RFx Copilot turns that evidence into a structured procurement workflow. Apply them to the defence categories and decisions that matter to your organisation.

01 / Discover & assess

Supplier Graph

Combines internal data with open records to map supplier capabilities, supporting evidence, and relationships. This distinguishes supplier claims from documented experience and capabilities.

For defence buyers and contracting authorities

Understand the market before you buy.

You need to understand who could meet a requirement, which alternatives exist and what still needs checking. Pattrnz connects demand and supplier evidence so your team can shape requirements and engage the market with a clearer rationale.

06About Pattrnz

Built to connect
what others
see in isolation.

We turn network science, data engineering and AI into practical tools for supplier discovery, capability mapping and procurement.

Founded in 2018, Pattrnz brings together academic experience at DTU and MIT with enterprise delivery and applied procurement research. Our defence work extends that foundation to one clear challenge: connecting industrial capabilities with the needs they can fulfil.

A few useful answers

Before you
take the next step.

How can you help an industry association or cluster?

We can scope a member capability map, targeted opportunity briefings or a workflow for matching member strengths with defence demand. The aim is more specific support: relevant opportunities, complementary partners and evidence for programme design. Start with a member cohort or a procurement theme.

How is Pattrnz connected to Nordic Procurement Labs?

Pattrnz contributes capability-mapping methods and digital tools through our work with Nordic Procurement Labs. The lab brings a wider research and collaboration context around procurement, resilience and cross-border discovery. You can explore its published work or discuss a focused pilot with us.

What does Pattrnz bring to defence procurement?

Pattrnz supports the early stages of procurement: defining requirements, discovering and assessing suppliers, and preparing a structured RFI, RFQ or RFP. Supplier Graph and RFx Copilot form the core approach. Public tools such as DALO Smart Hub and services such as opportunity briefs apply that approach to particular users and questions.

Is this only for established defence suppliers?

No. Defence readiness depends on a broad industrial base: manufacturing, materials, electronics, software, infrastructure, logistics and maintenance. Civilian companies with relevant dual-use capabilities can use the hub to investigate where they may contribute. Each opportunity still requires its own technical and commercial qualification.

What can I try today?

DALO Smart Hub is publicly available. Start with one to five links from your company website, inspect the capability profile and explore potential matches. You can also browse the procurement catalogue directly. For prime-contractor intelligence, technical briefs or a tailored sourcing workflow, speak with us about your needs.

Does a match mean a supplier is qualified?

A match is a starting point for investigation. Pattrnz surfaces capability signals, related records and a rationale to review. It does not certify suppliers, confirm compliance or guarantee eligibility or an award. Your team retains responsibility for due diligence, qualification and commercial decisions.

Is Pattrnz affiliated with DALO?

DALO Smart Hub is an independent service by Pattrnz. It uses publicly available procurement information and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DALO or udbud.dk. Official notices remain the authoritative source.

Can Pattrnz work with our existing data and systems?

Our broader Supplier Graph and RFx Copilot approach is designed to complement existing procurement systems. We scope data integration, access requirements and workflow support with each organisation. Contact us to discuss a suitable starting point.
